Flower of Edo by Utagawa Kuniyoshi - Vintage Japanese Art Poster Print

"Flower of Edo - Kaminari Shokuro" is a woodblock print artwork created by the Japanese artist Utagawa Kuniyoshi during the Edo period in the 19th century. The artwork depicts a kabuki actor named Kaminari Shokuro, who is dressed in a colourful kimono and holding a large wisteria branch. The wisteria flowers symbolise the transience of life and the beauty of nature. Kuniyoshi's detailed and vibrant print technique captures the dynamic and dramatic nature of kabuki theatre. The artwork is considered one of Kuniyoshi's masterpieces and exemplifies the ukiyo-e style, which was popular during the Edo period and often depicted scenes from everyday life, theatre, and nature.
